ABOUT ME

Hi Everyone! My name is Chloe Troche and I am your son or daughters English teacher! I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago where I attended Providence Catholic High School for two years and then transferred to Lemont High School where I received my diploma in 2019. As a senior at Lemont, I made the decision to attend Western Michigan University to pursue a degree in Secondary Education Majoring in English with a minor in math.

BENEFICIAL MOMENTS IN MY LIFE THAT GUIDED ME TO WHO I AM NOW

COMMON GROUNDS COFFEE SHOP

Not only did LHS help prepare me for becoming a teacher, it gave me the opportunity to work with special needs children. Our school was fortunate enough to have a coffee house in the Citgo Innovation Academy(library) where the special needs children were able to gain real-life work experience. So, I got to be a mentor for the students and it really opened my eyes and introduced me to a specturm I have never worked with. I worked along side my classmate named Garan and were able to use one another to teach the students. Again, one of my favorite high school memories.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Because I loved working with the special needs students in the coffee house, I decided to become a volunteer for our schools Special Olympics team! Being able to work with these students on real life activities is the greatest experiences I take pride in. Coaching them, but being their friend is what it is all about.

TEACHING INTERNSHIP

I do believe transferring to Lemont High School was the best decision for me. I knew that I wanted to become a teacher but I did not know any of the logistics behind it. So, I decided to take Introduction to Teaching my senior year and that was the smartest thing I could have done. I learned lesson planning, professionalism in a classroom, how to properly teach lessons, managing student and the list goes on. During the second semester of that course, I was able to intern at the local elementary school, River Valley, along side Mrs. Klukas. It was an experience I will never forget from reading with the students, grading worksheets to crying on the last day because I did not want to leave them.
